The second HIV-Patient after stem cell Transplantation, virus-free
For the second Time in the world, an HIV-Patient after a stem cell Transplantation, virus-free. The researchers report in the journal “Nature”.
The blood cancer, the diseased man had been discounted thus stem cells for a bone marrow donor with a rare genetic mutation. In the "London Patienten" there is now for almost 19 months, no signs of the Aids Virus.
So far the only documented "Heilung" of HIV patients is the case of the U.S. citizen Timothy Brown about ten years ago. The healing continued in the "Berlin Patient" known to Brown, after the donor bone marrow had been transplanted. This showed a genetic change that prevents infection with HIV – as now in the case of the "London Patienten".
